I'm still not certain what qualifies as "emo" music but from what I've gathered there is some that I like and some that I don't like.

I'm not particularly fond of the fashion or shallowness.
I don't like the popularity of destructive behaviors associated with it.

I think that most of the people on this forum are pretty decent as far as I can tell though.

I like my fair share of both legitimate emotional hardcore (Rites of Spring, Embrace, Moss Icon), skramz (Saetia, Circle Takes the Square, Off Minor), post-emo (Jimmy Eat World, Sunny Day Real Estate), post-hardcore (Fugazi, At the Drive-In, Drive Like Jehu, the Fall of Troy), and stereotypical "emo" bands (Dashboard Confessional, Bright Eyes, Death Cab for Cutie, Weezer, Something Corporate). I could list bands for hours and hours, honestly. I love this shit.

I've always said that music (or more simply, sound) is the most expressive form of art and communication, and this genre really plays on that.

It also has the fury and intensity and frustration of punk rock, but breaks the mold that punk is always about hating politicians and being anarchistic.

I more a fan of post-emo
The fashion I don't mind
But it has it's good bits and bad bits as does anything

Don't like the music.
If you also consider it a fashion; then yes, I do enjoy it.

Behaviors that are associated with it are ridiculous.
Those that partake in them are disappointing to say the least.
