Genres I hate:
Rap (the mindless shitty kind with no meaning whatsoever other than cramming as much curse words into one sentence), country, bubblegum pop, glam rock, pop-punk (well, most pop-punk bands), and new wave. |
That's basically all i've gotten out of most rap music too. Bubblegum pop? Like hannah montana? _________________ The worst kinda guy to argue with

But that stuff makes me giggle because a lot of it makes no sense (as in the way they use the curse words)
Why does everyone hate country? Is it because it's not "hardcore," or because it's for "hicks?" Country can be very emotional too, guys (though most, if not all music is emotional) I know a couple of country songs that can make me cry at times.
Explain please? As in, the kind of pop music every 12 to 15 year-old girl listens to, or am I missing a compete genre here?

I actually like pop-punk (the likes of Good Charlotte). |

| I honestly dislike when people say that they listen to "a little bit of everything," because usually those people don't realize just how much "everything" is. That being said, I primarily listen punk and pop-punk, independent bands, "alternative rock," and singer-songwriter / folky stuff. I listen to a few electronic artists (The Books, Bjork, Burial, DJ Shadow, Portishead, Prefuse 73) and I like Eminem exclusively for his lyrics. |

Yeah like polka and opera right? I doubt they listen to those even though they listen to "everything".
But I can't speak here because, like I said, I don't listen to enough to know which genre I prefer for sure. _________________ Testing Testing...

| Opera, classical, metal and rock. The Sub Genres of metal I dig is Opera, Power, maybe some speed and death. But not too much death. I treat rock pretty much as metal's dad. And some techo when I feel the need to do a tiring task zombie-like. Well, maybe some J-pop/J-rock whenever I catch something I like... I DON'T KNOW WHAT GENRE ALI PROJECT IS! |

Haha... you were the reason I even thought of opera when I made that last post.

Harder Better Faster Stronger by Daft Punk would probably be a good suggestion for that then. It's not for everyone though.

I never heard of Ali Project until now but they sound beautiful. I wish I knew what they were saying though. Something bothers me about listening to music in other languages sometimes. If I do memorize the words and happen to sing them around someone who speaks the language I could be making a fool of myself by singing ridiculous or degrading lyrics that disagree with my personal philosophies and that would make me look hypocritical. _________________ Testing Testing...

...So do they sing about Harry Potter? 'Cause I mean, this is enough Harry Potter based music for me right here:

Nah, I just don't like it. I don't think "I can't like it because it's 'hick music'", it's not for me. I'm not saying it's musically bad, I just strongly dislike it.
