YAY DISTURBED!

I honestly listen to way too many bands to pick just one favorite. So here's my top 5 =D

1.) Three Days Grace. They got me into music all together, and most of what I listen to I discovered from my original interest in 3DG
2.) Guns N' Roses. How could they not be on my list? Slash is my all time favorite guitarist, and Axl's lyrics are amazing.
3.) Red. They may be Christian rock, but I've been listening to them a lot lately. Their lyrics don't have to be applied to the Christian faith, which I like a lot. If I didn't know they were Christian rock, I'd think their lyrics were about love and hate.
4.) Sixx:AM. Amazing lyrics, and Nikki Sixx is a true inspiration.
5.) Hawthorne Heights. Again, I really like their lyrics. Though every "emow" kid seems to listen to them, so I may lose interest.

Runners up:
Breaking Benjamin
DragonForce
3 Doors Down
Linkin Park
Circle Takes The Square
Story of the Year
Skillet(more Christian rock xD)
AFI
Nirvana
Limp Bizkit
Disturbed

I like all the ones that I bolded/colored on that list but I really don't know anything about the other ones.
I'll have to check those out.

Have you heard of them?

They're a pretty amazing band. The lead singer,David Draiman, has some kick ass piercings although i thought it was a beard at first.
(from far away it looks like a beard)

I can't really choose between all the amazing bands, but I would have to say Flyleaf

Kimya Dawson (think some of the music from Juno) has some of the funniest songs out there that i have ever heard.

MSI: They are flat out crazy and i love it.

It'd take me all day to list every single band I listen to.

Now, I tend to pick my favorite music in terms of records, because when it's all said and done, does it really matter who made the record as much as the record itself matters? That being said, a lot of my favorite music is bands that made one or two albums and then disappeared into the abyss. It's unfair to say that these are my favorite bands, because they've only made forty or so minutes of enjoyable music. All of the guys I'm about to list have released several albums that I liked.

The Velvet Underground (as well as Lou Reed's and John Cale's respective solo careers)
Operation Ivy (& other Armstrong/Freeman bands)
Pixies
Fugazi (& other Ian MacKaye and Guy Picciotto bands)
Sonic Youth
Dinosaur Jr. (I have the utmost respect for their ability to reunite twenty years after they split and make another amazing album.)
Saetia, Off Minor, Hot Cross (three screamo bands sharing some members)
Weezer
Nirvana
NOFX
Elephant 6 Collective (huge group of guys who release a lot of stuff under different band names)
Tomas Kalnoky (member of Catch 22, Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution, and Streetlight Manifesto)
The White Stripes
Bomb the Music Industry!
