Overrated much?

Have you ever wanted something and then once you got it, decided it was overrated? What was it and why did you want it so badly?

for instance, I used to really want a cell phone. everybody had one. Everybody had the texting til 2am thing going on. Everybody seemed to be "in the loop". So I finally got one and gave people my phone number. But, I forgot to get free text. I ran up a $300 phone bill which i am STILL paying. Then when I told people I couldnt text anymore, my phone rarely got used. Sure, maybe a few people call me, but it's not just to chat, it's usually to arrange plans or something. My phone has pretty much stopped being fun since then. I can't even send the pictures I take on it to my email and save them anymore.

I also used to be pretty crazy about wanting a hampster. Thank God I didnt get one, because in my head there are times I want one and times I get so frustrated with the animals I have that I want to scream.

Hmm..more or less the same thing happened to me. Nobody calls to chat, of course they text. So I just don't bother charging my phone anymore; I barely use it.

Hmm... I have to say that people have always disappointed me more than objects.

Though sometimes there is food that I think will taste better than it does.

Sex is great
But not as great as everyone seems to think it is
Or I'm having sex wrong
Sex feels good
No sex feels great
But people seem to think it's some holy grail or something that is a massive acheivment
Sex is overrated

All teenage boys seem to think it's the greatest thing that could ever happen
I always wanted it I guess
I didn't want to rush it though
It just came naturally when I ended up doing it
But afterwards it's overrated

I always wanted to be a teenager... They always seemed so cool.
They could cuss, and they could stay out later, and they had LIVES.
Well...
I no longer think that.
Being a teenager sucks for me.
So that was wholly overrated.

Shit- to put it bluntly
And after your retired and old what kind of fun is that..
I think I'm at the pinnacle at the moment
And that's a sucky thought

This little kid is so cute!

My high point, so far, was being 5 years old.
Careless... IT was great.

One other thing that was overrated was looking great.
I mean, I have my share of days when I want to look good, but its so overrated.
It's insane how obsessed people are with looks.
I like having a nice haircut and some eyeliner on, but It isn't the end of the world if I don't put make up on, or do my hair.
Its stupid how some people just spend all day fixing their appearances.

wow. my mom would be so mad if my sister said somehting like that.

I agree, looking great can be overrated. they always told me looking great would help me get a boyfriend. I tried so hard and.... *still single*
