Do we need others in order to understand ourselves?

Do you think we need others to help us figure out what we are like as people? Do others help determine our identities, or do we do this on our own? Do others find out things about ourselves that we can't? How important are people to us in general.

Yeah, I think we need other people.
I mean, if we didn't, we wouldn't have difference, or opinions, anything like that.

I guess sometimes it helps.

In studying psychology (information gathered from other people) I know why I act certain ways that I do.

I probably already "knew" it on subconscious level I just wasn't aware of it.

We're all not so special, just a bunch of biological and chemical functions combined.

It is up to us on a personal level to figure out the best way to use them to our advantage for survival.

I think it helps, but the only one who truly knows me is me.
